Forged valves are created using a forging method that involves shaping metals and alloys while they’re in their solid form. Heat and industrial-size tools deliver compressive forces to bend the metals and alloys, and dies are used to cut and shape the materials to create specific valves. Forging can be performed in most temperatures depending on the metals used.
Design and function
Design
● Design Forged Steel Globe Valves are generally available with Plug Type Disc, which is designed to give leak tight seating over a long period of in built wear life.
● All Relia Globe Valve stems are made from solid one piece construction.
● Forge valves are available in two bonnet designs. The first design is the Bolted Bonnet, with male-female joint, spiral wound gasket,
● The body is forged steel and designed to the basic dimensional requirements of the applicable specifications such as API 602 and ASME B16.34.
● The body is available in both the full or standard port design. It is also available in either T-pattern or Y-pattern configuration.
● The body seat is an integral weld overlay and is part of the valve trim. The disc is forged steel and is part of the valve trim.
● The disc seating surface is of the tapered or plug type design.
● The disc is attached to the stem using a loose or swivel disc arrangement.
Function
The forged steel globe valve is a common ball valve. Since the valve body of linear motion valves is spherical, they are called “globe valves.” When they are opened, liquid can travel between the Globe Valve disc and seat. Globe valves or linear motion valves have spherical valve bodies. Fluid can travel between a Globe Valve’s disc and seat when it’s open.
Advantage
● It is Streamlined flow passages to minimize pressure losses and erosion
● the Taper plug type disc and shoulder seated screwed renewable seat ring with perfect matching of mating parts to assure leak tightness.
